VIDEO: "OUR PARK" - NIKE MIYASHITA PARK
Via HypebeastTV: Having documented the ongoing struggles of the homeless inhabitants of Tokyo's Miyashita Park, "Our Park" is a short documentary that takes a further in-depth look into public space. The selling and subsequent purchase of the park by Nike which resulted in its renaming are highlighted. Furthermore, the artistic aspect of the park is brought to light as it serves as a place for many artists to convene and promote their creativity. Damn, I love Nike but I don't know about this one. I hope more on the documentary comes out later. - RichardLabels: Nike
VIDEO: NIKE EARL AND TIGER COMMERCIAL
Nike is already back on with Tiger commercials. A lot of talk and controversy surrounding the ad because it features the voice of Tiger's father, Earl Woods. I personally don't feel any which way for it. Labels: Nike, Tiger Woods

NEW NIKE TOKIS AT TRADITION
We just received a new pair of Tokis from Nike. The simple silhouette of the Nike Toki is hitting us with a clean color-up in grey and Dodger blue. The medium grey uppers are done completely in suede, with matching swooshes on either side. White piping is used along the midfoot and eyelets, matching the vulcanized sole perfectly. The real accent comes from blue sapphire pinstripe along that sole, which pops off of the dark majority of the shoe. - DrewLabels: Dodgers, Nike, Toki

NIKE AIR INVENTOR PASSES AWAY
Frank Rudy, Inventor of Nike's Air technology passes away on December 13th. He was 84. I'm gonna have to break out some AM1's and pay my respect! "Most of us have owned at least one of his inventions in a lifetime as Frank Rudy is known as the person responsible for inventing the Nike Air we have grown to love. Aged 84, Rudy passed away in his Californian home on December 13th. He was an avid inventor with 250 patents under his name resulting from his background in aerospace engineer in the military and later on moving across various industries to provide his new ideas.
Nike founder Phil Knight had tried on the prototype sneaker with Air (a cushioning unit filled with pressurized gasses) in 1977 and the rest is history. From then Nike had come to release the Nike Air Tailwind (1979) then Air Force 1 (1982) to the spawning of the 1987 “Revolution” campaign in which Nike Air Max 1 was launched showcasing visible Air for the first time. After this revolution Nike has been synonymous for Air and its comfort as that tradition stays alive.
Nike CEO Mark Parker reflects that “Frank Rudy holds a singular place in the pantheon of Nike innovation” and that “his relentless creativity and focus on solving problems was, in many ways, the template for how Nike pursues performance to this very day.”
Also Rudy was known to be in close contact with doctors in Ohio and New York to fund and help with cancer research which he had dedicated his life to. Frank Rudy will not be forgotten as Nike prepares to launch the “Fresh Air” campaign in 2010." - DrewLabels: Nike

NIKE AIR FORCE II "GUCCI"
I have never been a really big fan of the Air Force 2, although it really isn't too far off from a Dunk. Nike has recently started releasing this shoe in several interesting colorways, and I have to say that the Air Force 2 “Gucci” is pure fire! The Air Force 2 comes in all black, in a mix of different leathers on the upper. Everything from the Swoosh to the sole comes in all black. On the back heel the strap comes in the classic Gucci colors, giving the sneaker an overall premium look. A perfect match for all of your Crooks gear as well. We should be receiving this shoe in the next few weeks, so stay tuned! Labels: Air Force II, Gucci, Nike
VINTAGE VANDALS
Nike has been giving a lot of shoes the "vintage treatment" in the lasts few months... Everything from the OG runners, to Dunks, to the upcoming Terminators releases. The Nike Vandal is the next shoe to receive this treatment. This fall Nike will bring back the nylon upper Vandal Supremes. The last time these made it to the public was in 2003, and before that was two decades back. So far we have gotten a sneak peek at three upcoming colors that are all originals that were released when the shoe premiered in 1984. Of course, Tradition will be getting these... Labels: Nike
AIR RAID
The Air Raid originally hit the scene in 1992, and a few more colorways landed in 93. Back in the day the Air Raid was simply known as the “Criss Cross” shoe, and they were often compared to the Air Jordan 8 due to the similar strap units. The black/grey colorway is probably the most popular, probably due to the fact that it is the OG colorway. Expect these to drop in the next few weeks along with a bunch of other heat at Tradition! Labels: Nike
AIR FORCE 1 SAFARI
Nike is set to release the Air Safari Air Force 1 as part of the upcoming Air Force 1 "ACG" Pack which takes its color inspiration from some popular OG colorways. This shoe takes it's cue from the classic Air Safari and features a black, orange, and gray speckled upper with a black sole. This is one of the best AF1's I have seen in a long time... Don't sleep on these. Coming soon to Tradition! Labels: Nike

NIKE AF1 "AIR MAX" PACK
The "Air Max Pack "Air Force Ones will release in June. Nike called upon memorable colorups such as the Infrared 90’s, Neon 95’s, and Silver 97’s. Besides the color blocking, Nike hit each with touches such as retooled tongues, back tabs, and a heel Air Max unit on the 95 as well as full length for the Air Max 97 (not shown). These are some of the best AF1's I have seen in a long time, and of course Tradition will be among the first stores to have them! Labels: Nike
