After a brief hiatus, okayplayerTV is back. This time around we’re featuring D.C.’s own, Wale. In the clip, he talks about the Afrobeat/Go Go influence in his music, being a close friend to The Roots, his favorite emcees, and the anxiety leading into his debut album. At long last Wale’s highly anticipated album, Attention Deficit, is in stores today, make sure to pick that one up (iTunes, Amazon). The LP features Bun B, Gucci Mane, Jazmine Sullivan, Pharrell Williams, Chrisette Michele, K’Naan, Marsha Ambrosius, J. Cole, Melanie Fiona, and more. Props to Greg The Dude and Tunji on the video.
Here's a track from Wale's upcoming album, Attention Defecit, called "Inhibitions" featuring Pharrell Williams. Attention Defecit is due out November 3rd.
My verdict is still out on Wale... I definitely don't hate him, but I'm not a super fan either. Here's a new Cool & Dre produced track from Wale's upcoming album, Attention Deficit, called Ice & Rain. Maybe this album will make me a believer.
Hip Hop Official caught up with Wale for their Artist of the Week series. Wale talks about his past mixtapes, his upcoming album, and his single "Chilling" with Lady Gaga.
We've been hearing about this mixtape for awhile, and it's finally here. LRG presents Wale & 9th Wonder's "Back to the Feature." This mixtape features appearances from Freeway, Joe Budden, Talib Kweli, Mephis Bleek, Bun B, K'naan, and more. Wale made some noise with the release of his track "Nike Boots" last year, and he is no getting alot of radio play for his track "Chilling" which features Lady Gaga. 9th Wonder made his mark as part of the group Little Brother, but really reached acclaim when he produced the song "Threat" of Jay-Z's Black Album.
Here's a leak from Wale's upcoming mixtape,"Back to The Feature," with super producer 9th Wonder called "WordPlay." The track features Curren$y and Tre from UCB. "Back to The Feature" is scheduled to drop at the end of April.
