BLVD Gallery is proud to present “Disconnected” a showing of new works by frequent collaborators Marco Zamora and Derek Albeck. Both of these artists work maintain a dark, somewhat brooding atmosphere that speaks toward the vulnerability of the modern condition..The characters in Marco Zamora’s densely populated street scenes, created with layered ink washes, glide through the frame intent on their destinations without giving the viewer any sense of inclusion. Derek Albeck's richly patterned works create a vertiginous feeling of falling and of physical absence that overwhelms ones senses. Both artists have collaborated on major projects with the shoe manufacturer Vans as well as various exhibitions throughout the west coast.
