EVENT COVERAGE: OFF THE WALL

Saturday night was the opening reception of our "Off The Wall" artshow, and if you weren't here you definitely missed out! The artshow was in tribute to the late Michael Jackson, and featured the art of Acme, Axis, Chase Tafoya, Christina Felice, Dethkills, DJ Solo, Eyeone, Jason Youth, Justin Reed, Marsha, Sharktoof, Quincy Sutton, and Timothy "Teruo" Watters. DJ Myron was in the house spinning some classics as well as a 2 hour Michael Jackson tribute set! Check the photos below and kick yourself in the ass if you didn't show up!

The always elusive Sharktoof and his "Thriller" piece

Co-curater, Eyeone really did three pieces based off the "ABC" by the Jackson 5. His pieces represent the learning tree with "Reading", "Writing", and "Arithmetic"

Axis... Always late, but worth the wait. He was the last to turn in his artwork, but the first artist to show up at the show

Quincy Sutton killed it with his "Thriller 1982" piece

One of Soul Assassins' resident artists , DJ Solo, and his dope piece, "The Last Hand." Solo went all out with this one and even printed a 'Zine called "The Solo Codes" to explain the symbolism of his piece

Marsha's brightly colored "Will The Real Michael Jackson Please Step Up?" was another crowd favorite

Timothy "Teruo" Watters and his "Billie Jean" piece

Jason Youth did two pieces for the show, "Eternal" and "Pray For Me"

Chris Wolford representing for the Dethkills crew

Acme's hand styled "Michael" piece

DJ Myron cutting it up

Lil' Meezy dropping verses off the dome

Fred Segal in the house

The crowd was hyped all night

Prmtve Passe and his new friend Stephanie

Baby Geo stunting like his daddy in a Black Scale tee and Tradition hoody

Thanks again to everyone that came out. Many of the pieces are still available for purchase. Call the shop to inquire about prices.
